Jake Blauvelt is currently riding a pretty big wave. Having thrown in competitions for back country movies his blockbuster 'Naturally' movie blew people away when it dropped earlier this year. Blauvelt is continuing to innovate and lead the sport in new, exciting directions. Blauvelt's began his career on the competition circuit. It peaked in 2004 when he won the US Open Competition, at this point he decided that was enough and wanted to return to his back-country roots. Under the mentorship of the great Terje Haakonson, Blauvelt started delivering incredible parts in a whole host of movies including 'That', ‘Derelictica’ and 'Nowhere.' Jake was born on August 22, 1986, in Bellingham, WA. He developed a love of snowboarding while ripping it up on the natural terrains back in his home town. His laid back personality is evident in his riding and belies the precision and agility he has when strapped in. 'Naturally' came after a two year gestation period and didn't disappoint. Blauvelt is one of the few riders who leads rather than follows and it's truly exciting to see what he creates next.
