2013 has been quiet for John Jackson after a series of injuries but that has down little to quell the acclaim for the young American. Having won back to back Rider of the Year and Video Part of the Year awards in 2010 and 2011 that's hardly surprising. Jackson was brought up riding the immaculate parks of Mammoth Mountain. He combines the style and technique he learned there with the smooth lines of a seasoned freerider. His video parts are always impressive and occasionally psychedelic and showcase his incredible range of tricks he's capable. For example his part in Forever Forum features no less than 4 different double cork variations. John Jackson was born on October 13, 1983, in California, USA. He grew up in the mountains and began life skiing before moving onto snowboarding. He started off focusing on competition and won the US national championships whilst still in his teens before transitioning into the world of movies and the backcountry. He and brother, Eric, a fellow professional, are often seen together tearing down their local mountains or planning absurd 15,000 mile trips from Alaska to Chile. Jackson is an unmistakeable figure, charging down a mountain with verve, huge tricks and his blonde dreadlocks trailing behind him like a mane. Despite a quiet few years Jackson will be back with a bang.
