Jonny Walker brought his participation in the 2013 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship to a successful close at the third and final round of the series in Tours, France earlier this year, claiming third in the final championship standings behind Taddy Blazusiak and David Knight. It was the culmination of twelve months of great results for the young Cumbrian rider, who experienced his best season yet in 2012 when he came second overall in the SuperEnduro World Indoor Cup, third in the Red Bull Romaniacs, and first in the British Extreme Enduro Championship. He also won the Erzberg Red Bull Hare Scramble. From the age of nine, Jonny competed in the British Schoolboy Trials Championship, twice winning the title and maintaining a top three ranking until he was 17. He was also the youngest ever winner of the prestigious Pinhard Trophy, awarded annually to a motorcyclist under the age of 21 from an ACU affiliated club, who is adjudged to have made the most meritorious achievement in motorcycle sport in the preceding year. In 2008 and 2009 Jonny experienced great success in European and Junior World Trials Championships, but he was soon hankering after a different challenge and, following a friend’s suggestion, he tried the sport of Enduro. One of the UK's most versatile off-road racers, Jonny’s results look set to keep improving. His one hundred per cent dedication to the sport and a burning ambition means his stated goal of becoming an Enduro world champion in the next couple of years may not be unrealistic.
