In 2011, Torey Pudwill won best trick at the Tampa Pro with his newly coined ‘grizzly flip’, he scored a 9.0 at Street League in Kansas City for his nollie kickflip backside lip slide, and he consistently made it to the finals at Street League all year. He then topped it all off by being named Best Street Skater at the TransWorld Skateboarding Awards. All this and he was barely 21. He has battled nagging injuries - first to his ankle and then a finger - which kept him out of contests and forced him to turn down his first two X Games invites. But in 2012, fully recovered, he placed first at the Tampa Pro, and the following year, he competed in his first X Games, in Street League’s X Games debut in Brazil, where he picked up a bronze medal. His career path started as a teenager, when he featured in short videos showcasing his skills around Simi Valley, California. He began competing in contests at the age of 18, and just two years later he became the new king of pop among skateboarders when a video clip surfaced online of Torey flipping off rails and ledges at Paul Rodriguez's training facility. T-Puds is renowned for his raw street style and game-changing skills, on show in videos such as 2011’s “Torey Pudwill’s Big Bang“ and his 2013 full video part for Plan B Skateboards. He always aims to takes it higher, longer and further, and his drive and technical control means he nearly always succeeds.
