Red Bull City Trial in Manchester Picadilly

Last Saturday saw motorcycle trials legend Dougie Lampkin, along with a host of world class riders descend on the beautiful Piccadilly Gardens as the brand new concept, Red Bull City Trial came to the heart of Manchester.

Hundreds of people watched on as teams of riders led by twelve time world champion Dougie Lampkin and current world number two, Adam Raga, competed over five different sections, including the jeopardy of riding through the gardens’fountain.In between the competition, 10 of the UK’s up and coming talent had the chance to be coached by the very best in the business.

Speaking of this unique event Dougie Lampkin said, “It was special to be able to bring the sport of motorcycle trials to the heart of Manchester, and with the early September weather being kind to us it really was a fantastic day. This sport has been a huge part of my life, and Red Bull City Trial gave me the opportunity to offer some of my knowledge to the next generation of riders as well of showing off some of my own skills!”

Youngster Jack Price said of the event, “It was an incredible opportunity to be able to ride with some true legends of the motor trial scene, guys who I really look up to. I was a bit nervous riding in front of so many people but once I got over the first obstacle I started to have great fun, learning some great new techniques along the way to help take my riding to the next level.”
