Leaving the seaside of Punta Ala and the inaugural round of the Enduro World Series we head north and west. Landing in Val d'allos in the French Préalpes the scene is set for a completely different race.
With over 10,000m of descending in two days of racing the stages here could favour a downhill rider but fitness and endurance will play a big part.
Clementz has won races here in the past and other French contenders are comfortable in this terrain, Barel will be on the podium path and Voullioz will want to push hard after a puncture in Punta Ala put him out of contention.
Graves, Atherton and Josh Carlson are riders to watch and the one practice then straight to the timed run will definitely suit some more than others.
