Series leader Clement Desalle extended his points lead at Agueda with a perfect 1-1 for the day. Defending champ Tony Cairoli suffered from poor starts and had to chase Desalle from back in the pack. However Cairoli showed he still has the speed to win his 5th World title be reeling Desalle in during both heats but failing to make the pass for the lead. Cairoli needs to start winning Moto's as the Belgian Desalle grows in confidence with every GP.
