Dean Potter is the only person in the world who does extreme slacklining. This hair-raising variation of tightrope-walking sees Dean high up in the sky, crossing a bouncy stretch of rope that is only one inch wide, without using a pole for balance, or any kind of safety harness. Dean has walked across some of the world's most breathtaking canyons suspended hundreds of feet above the ground. At each attempt he is fully aware that one slip could see him plunge to his death. This nail-biting film follows Dean as he makes ready for his bid to complete the longest high-line crossing ever, and by doing so cement his reputation as one of extreme sports greats. The Skywalker is also a fascinating portrait of a complex man who has been driven to risk his life and push the boundaries of human possibility since childhood. He is a world-renowned base jumper and free solo climber, who also used to be one half of one of the most glamorous couples in extreme sports. Now 36, Dean is struggling to get over the breakdown of his marriage, while also coming to terms with the fact that he is not immune to the ageing process; a process that will inevitably diminish his ability to continue to push his body to the limit.
